We recently had the pleasure of shooting one of the most elegant weddings in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Having been a part of many amazing weddings over the last 20 years, we know that nothing beats a wedding of the islanders themselves. The Turks and Caicos doesn’t have a huge population so if you have been around for some time or were born here it is impossible to keep your wedding small because everybody knows you!
So when Chanay and Joey got married they had a typical island wedding. Lots of guests, many details and the most gorgeous set up in the high end Shore Club Resort on Long Bay Beach.
Local weddings are amazing. First of all, WOW and WOW again to the hair and make up, the dresses, the gala gowns, the hats, the shoes and the suits. Every detail was absolutely gorgeous. Take a look at the ushers’ suits and the maid of honor’s gowns. The contrasting color of the bridesmaids’ dresses complemented everything perfectly. We especially loved the cute flower girls who sprinkled feathers down the aisle instead of flowers.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place at the Anglican church of St Monica. The bridal party made quite an entrance as they danced their way down the aisle. However, this dance was adjusted for the announcement of the bridal party at the reception afterwards…the moves were a little looser 🙂
This wedding was even more special to us since the father of the bride, Preston, is our cinematographer. In the 20 years that we have known Preston, we haven’t ever seen him at a wedding without a video camera in his hand! But of course, as the father of the bride, he was one of the key guests at this wedding. His speech at the reception was one of the best speeches we have ever heard; it came straight from the heart. Even though at times it was a bit emotional, there was also plenty of laughter.
Chanay and Joey, we loved you from the first time we met you. We did such a fun engagement shoot with you and now your beautiful, most elegant wedding in the Turks and Caicos islands. Chanay, you looked absolutely gorgeous in your custom made wedding gown by Hylton at Threads. Joey, you were so handsome in your bespoke suit – carrying your dad with you on your wedding day was very special.
