We were contacted recently to do a 10a.m. engagement shoot at The Shore Club on Long Bay beach. We wouldn’t normally do a shoot at this time because the light can be harsh and the sun too hot, especially on the beach. However, you could shoot all day long at The Shore Club no matter the strength of the sun. It is a great location for photographers because there are many gorgeous spots that are in the shade allowing the perfect amount of light for great photos. Also, the beach in Long Bay always brings a cooling breeze through the resort. This is one of the reasons why the beach on this side of the island is very popular with kite surfers.
Jessie, a Los Angeles police officer and Yvonne, a teacher, were on their first vacation here in the Turks and Caicos Islands. They had even made it over to Grand Turk, the Islands’ Capital, for a day of awesome snorkeling. We were delighted having a fun time with them at The Shore Club to celebrate their engagement. Unfortunately they are not celebrating their wedding here on island but we would be more than happy to fly to LA!!
The Engagement Shoot
We started the shoot just by the entrance lobby to the Shore Club resort. We finished down at the beach, in the shade of the palm trees. I’m sure you’ll agree that Yvonne looked stunning in her yellow dress. I love the way it accentuates her figure and flows in the wind. My favorite place to shoot here is by the heavy wooden doors to the ballroom. Check out the the color and texture of the doors and how they create a great background for the photo. The hanging chairs also make for great photos.
Many congratulations, Yvonne and Jessie, from all of us at Brilliant Studios. We hope you enjoyed your engagement shoot at The Shore Club, Turks and Caicos.
