Maria and Leonardo came all the way from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to celebrate their Grace Bay Beach destination wedding in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
After some online research into destination weddings in stunning Caribbean islands, Maria and Leonardo quickly discovered that the Turks & Caicos Islands was the perfect location for their elopement.
The couple were staying at a private villa in Long Bay beach. Rather than having their ceremony at the beautiful villa, they decided that, as it was just the two of them, it would take place at the end of the Grace Bay beach. A classic location for a Turks and Caicos destination wedding.
No Peeking!
On March 5th I met with Leonardo and Maria at their Long Bay villa. Bride and Groom wanted to keep the tradition of getting ready separately and not see each other before the ceremony. So I actually met Leonardo first. We took a few photos and he headed off to Grace Bay Beach. Next, I met Maria and after taking a few pictures with her around the grounds of the villa, we went for a short ride to Grace Bay beach where the groom was waiting with the pastor.
Their beach wedding ceremony took place by the stunning turquoise water of Grace Bay. After a short ceremony we had plenty of time to take photos near the water’s edge. After that, we drove to Sapodilla Bay to continue the destination wedding shoot and catch the sunset.
Sunset
Maria wanted to get some photos with a stunning sunset. The south side of Providenciales is the perfect location for this. We like to take pictures on this side of the island because we like to use the pretty dock and rocky area there. It is one of our favorite places on island for Turks and Caicos family portraits and weddings.
The wedding photography was the first part of a two-part shoot with us. We are planning to meet Leonardo and Maria tomorrow for our famous ‘Turks and Caicos Islands Trash the Dress’ shoot. Stay tuned for the fun part!
