This is the second year in a row that we have had the honor of photographing local Turks and Caicos Jeweler Atelys’ new collection.
We are huge fans of Atelys and her unique style of jewelry. Each year she surprises everybody with her newest ideas. Located in the Caicos Cafe Plaza, her store, Atelys, features handcrafted pieces with the gorgeous colors of sea glass and Larimar. Her jewelry is personalized, bespoke, hand-stamped and more importantly made with love in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Getting the Caribbean Feel
Last year’s photoshoot took place at the Shore Club. This year, we decided to change it up a bit by visiting a few different local spots around the island. We wanted to give the jewelry a classic Caribbean feel. And now that Atelys is selling some of her jewelry at Da Conch Shack in Blue Hills, this was the perfect place to start. You can’t get more caribbean than Da Conch Shack. It’s also the place where delicious island food and the famous rum punch are not to be missed!
To add to our classic Caribbean look, we also rented a bright yellow Moke for the shoot. These are definitely island cars. They are great fun to go out exploring in and you can let the wind run through your hair as you do it!
Last year the stunning Serena Delancy was our super model and this year we added the beautiful Isbel Love to the shoot. Isbel actually works with Atelys in the studio. Both girls were selected by Atelys not just for their beauty but also because they have such spontaneous and fun loving personalities – traits that we are always looking for in a shoot. And sorry, Serena, for the last shot of you at Leeward Beach. That small wave was a little unexpected 🙂
